Noblesse Half Century - September 2008

The family owned company of Noblesse Benelux based at Londerzeel , just north of Brussels is celebrating 50 years as our machine distributor for both Belgium and Holland. Now managed by Jan and Paul, the sons of Albert Noblesse pictured here (in the glasses) during a customer visit to the factory in 1959, the company is most probably unique in the wide range of services it offers to the industry. These include not only the resource to install, commission and service the machinery they supply but additionally to undertake upgrades and rebuild of machinery; this ability is complemented by the fact that they supply and service band saws from their modern servicing facility based in their headquarters’ factory.  Noblesse will exhibit Stenner machinery at the Hout Exhibition held in Rotterdam between the 29th September and the 3th October 2008.

Personnel Update - July 2008

Revenge is a dish best served cold!

Some two years ago Sandra Gratton reached that diamond age and retired after some 45 years with Stenner, from her position as the Commercial Manager and PA to the MD. On arriving at work on the day of her birthday she found not only the offices decorated inside and out but that her own office had been renamed as the “Old Persons Office”. Well Sandra has had some two years to wait until the main perpetrator, another long term employee also turned 60. Margaret Firth who ran Stenner’s bought ledger tried to avoid the issue by booking a day’s holiday on Tuesday the 22nd of July, her birthday, but was cajoled in on the promise of a free lunch and a present to find the place plastered with constant reminders of her age!

Margaret, second from the left is pictured here with Sandra and their two successors; Nadia Golder who is now the MD’s PA and Bridgette Greenaway who has succeeded Margaret in accounts.

Sandra having taken a break of a couple of months has returned to Stenner working three mornings a week, Margaret thought this was a good idea and will also return to work three mornings a week in her old stomping ground of Spares and Service; her break is however a little shorter than Sandra’s in that having retired on Tuesday she will be at the office on Friday!!
